      Hi

      I am looking to add new static blocks to the right column.
      1. Blog text
      2. Social Media icons
      3. Video

      Anyone also know how to APPLY the blocks to the right panel?
      I have deleted the existing twitter block, but it still seems to be appearing.
      I also need to delete ‘compare products’ panel.

      Any help would be much appreciated.

      Hello, to delete the “Compare Products” block, go to catalog.xml and comment this line:

      Like this:

      To remove the Twitter block, go to: appdesignfrontenddefaulthellojynxxtemplatecatalognavigationvert_nav.phtml

      and comment or remove this lines:

      To add statick blocks, you can do it from vert_nav.phtml

      Regards.-

      fantastic, thanks

      have done the first two, so just going to populate with more static blocks.
      sorry to be a pain but could you guide me slightly on this, as I am not the most techy ;)
      the code from vert_nav.phtml is below.

      is the process:
      1. create new static block in CMS backend.
      2. then add code or ID below somewhere?

      cheers

      <!–div class=”box base-mini”>
      <div class=”head”>
      <h4 class=”title”><?php echo $this->__(‘Shopping’) ?> <span class=”blue”><?php echo $this->__(‘Options’) ?></span></h4>
      </div>
      <ul id=”left-nav”>
      <span class=”category”><?php echo $this->__(‘Category’) ?></span>
      <?php //Mage::log(); ?>
      <?php foreach ($this->getStoreCategories() as $_category): ?>
      <?php echo $this->drawItem($_category) ?>
      <?php endforeach ?>

      </div–>

      Hi Pete, first create the static block in your admin panel, take a note of the identifier of the block, because you will use it in the next step.
      Then, go to vert_nav.phtml ,add the following lines to display the block:

      You can change the head and titles to what ever you want, but note that the second line which has the identifier is the line who displays the block.

      Hope this help you.

      Cheers.-
