HelloThemes on the iPad?

Hello,

Our good friends at Magento have newly released ‘Magento Mobile’…This new product enables your brand to go where ever your customers go. This would help increase brand awareness and boost sales revenue, Hellothemes already had the ecommerce theme templates for the iPhone and now with the release of the iPad2, we are seriously looking at investing time and effort to bring you the next generation online shopping experiences.

Your ecommerce store will look like never before, with the iPad2’s capabilities, it will be like having your website on your PC in your hand at any given time, with all the functionality and impressive sliding features that we have all come to love with apple technology, giving your valued customers more time to search products on the move. We expect to be more requirements for companies to go mobile in the very near future, we will be watching this with held breath.

Product Photo Tips

If you are reading this blog then you are more than likely selling products online using the best open-source eCommerce software available, Magento. Even if you are not yet selling products online or are using a system other than Magento (you should check out Magento!), you should keep reading because this information will help you out regardless.

Typically when selling products whether it is online or not, it comes down to pricing, product presentation, marketing, and credibility or authority.

In this blog post, we are only going to cover image quality but please look forward to more blog posts on the topics of pricing, marketing, social media, and other eCommerce aspects.

As with any market but even more so with the internet, there is fierce competition. You are trying to sell a product that thousands of others are too. How do you separate yourself from the others? One way is to make sure that your image quality is far above the others. Too many times when perusing the web for a product, you come across a lot of websites that are selling various products but the images are horrible or just small to be able to see what you are buying. Facebook and Magento, like?

Facebook announced a few weeks ago that they were making some changes and also added a bunch of new functionality that is changing the way users interact not only on Facebook, but with websites in general.

One of the changes they made were getting rid of “Become a Fan” for pages on Facebook. Instead of “Becoming a Fan”, you now simply choose to “Like” a page or not. The interesting thing about pages is that if you ever stumbled across a page that a friend of yours was a “Fan” or “Liked”, and you were not, it would say “So and So likes this” or “So and So is a fan”.

It is a very slick feature because if a friend of yours likes it or is a fan, you are far more likely to check it out for yourself and possibly like it or become a fan. This kind of dynamic just adds to the social media experience all around.

One of the very innovative additions that Facebook recently made was adding the ability of “Like” to webpages and websites. This is great for many reasons because if you are reading a news website and come across an article and it says “So and So likes this” you are probably going to read the article and check it out. Make use of Coupons!

Coupons, they are everywhere. It does not matter if you go to the local grocery store, martial arts gym, piano lessons, or just browsing the paper for the latest sports scores, coupons are indeed everywhere. Does anyone remember walking down the aisle of the grocery store with your mother and you kept pulling the coupons out of those automatic coupon dispensers just to see another coupon come out? Okay, maybe that was only me…

The point is, coupons are everywhere for a reason. They exist to make people money. There is a psychological disconnect between coupons and purchasing items. The coupon could only be for 10 cents but they think they are getting a great deal when it really only is a 10 cent savings, you spent more than that on gas to get to the store. (more…)

Writing Good Product Descriptions that are SEO-Friendly

Magento is a very powerful shopping cart solution that is free (community edition). It is unrivaled in many categories and even has features and functionality that other shopping cart solutions just plain out do not have, even commercial shopping carts!

Even with all of its features and powerful functionality, it can not automatically write you good product descriptions that will rank your online store or individual products higher within Google’s search rankings. It comes down to requiring a human (you), to write good copy for your product descriptions that are seo-friendly while making sure that copy is tailored for your consumers to help persuade as many click-throughs (purchases) as possible.

You may be thinking, “How can I write the product descriptions but yet maintain a good balance?”. It is very simple, because you do NOT write your product descriptions for the search engines or for more clicks. (more…)
