However, keep updated product prices can be very difficult for sales managers.

In this post we will describe an effective method to update prices with Magento native functions, without extensions developed by third parties.

  1. Go to System -> Import/Export -> Profiles
  2. Add a new profile
  3. Set with this options:
    • Name: Export product/prices
    • Entity type: Products.
    • Direction: Export
    • Select the store
    • Number of records: 1
    • Decimal separator: I recommend”.” (dot)
    • Data transfer: Interactive
    • Type: CSV
    • No
    • Field mapping:
      • SKU
      • Price
  4. Save the profile
  5. Run profile -> Run profile in Popup
  6. With these steps will achieve export all SKU’s of our products and their respective prices to a spreadsheet, where you can easily change the prices of each product.
  7. Finally, we must create a new profile to import prices that we have updated. The import profile must have the same properties as the export profile.
    • Name: Update prices
    • Entity type: Products.
    • Direction: Import
    • Select the store
    • Number of records: 1
    • Decimal separator: I recommend”.” (dot)
    • Data transfer: Interactive
    • Type: CSV
    • No
    • Field mapping:
      • SKU
      • Price
  8. Upload the CSV file to import profile -> Save and continue edit -> Run Profile -> Select File -> Run profile in popup

Export all the products, make all the price changes and then upload the products again is very tedious task. You can save loads of time with extension from eMagicOne:

This tool enables you to filter products and massively change prices.

Thanks for that great tutorial! I know there are also many extension for bulk price update. For example this one https://amasty.com/mass-product-actions.html which is also useful for other mass updates like changing product attributes sets, quantity, assigning cross & up sells, etc.

Hi, it worked perfectly! Any idea on how would I do if wanted to set all my products from website 1 to show website 2? Both are on the same Magento install.
